About the Maine Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons – The Eye MDs

Our Profession:
Medical doctors (MDs) and Osteopathic doctors (DOs) specializing in the care of the human eye.

Our Membership:
The Maine Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons represents approximately 62 ophthalmologists practicing in the State of Maine and 12 retired ophthalmologists. The Society is affiliated with the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Our Primary Purposes:
The purposes of the Maine Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons (MSEPS) are:

1. To promote the continuing education and expertise of its members in the practice of ophthalmology.
2. To promote the ophthalmological welfare of the people of its state.
3. To act as a consultant to medical organizations, legislators, schools, and media in matters pertaining to the practice of ophthalmology.
